On 6 June 2012, H.E. Mr. Kamthorn Sitthtichoti, Ambassador of Thailand to Lima held bilateral meeting with Mr. Mario Mongilardi Fuchs, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lima and Mr. Hernan S.Lanzara, Institutional Director of the Lima Chamber of CommercePresident in order to discuss way and means to enhance bilateral cooperation on trade and investment between Thailand and Peru.
Earlier in February 2012, during the 3rd Thailand – Peru Joint – Commission Meeting held in Lima, Thailand and Peru pledged to foster all bilateral relations and cooperation in all aspects especially in economics and investments. Ambassador Kamthorn and the representatives of the Lima Chamber of Commerce discussed possible joint cooperation such as the possible visit to Thailand of the Peruvian private sector, together with the high level visit, the upcoming visits of Thai private and public sectors, the promotion of Thai and Peruvian investment in each country, the utilization of the FTA Thailand – Peru enforced last year and the potential sectors for investment in Thailand.
Both side exchanged their views that Thailand and Peru could be strategic partner of each other in the regions and the bilateral trade and investments have more room to grow. Ambassador emphasized Thailand’s policy to increase two way trade and he presented Thai companies’ profiles to the Lima Chamber of Commerce for its kind cooperation in promoting this information to its members. who are interested to expand business partnership with Thailand.
