Ambassador of Thailand to Peru presides over the opening ceremony and presentation of Thai books to the Thai Education Corner at the University of San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL) on 19 March 2012.

On 19 March 2012, H.E. Kamthorn Sithtichoti ,Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Peru presided over the opening ceremony and presentation of Thai books to Thai Education Corner donated to the University of San Ignacio de Loyola.

Represented by Mr. Ramiro Salas, the International Vice President and Mr. Henry Barclay Rey de Castro , Academic Vice President ,USIL presented a certificate of appreciation to Ambassador Kamthorn Sithtichoti and the Royal Thai Embassy. Mr. Ramiro Salas announced the University’s appreciation in receiving this valuable Thai Corner consisted of variety kinds of books, DVD, CDs  related to Thai arts and cultures as well as  decorative items. He added that this Thai education corner will open horizon of the students of USIL to learn more about Thailand in every dimensions. Besides USIL would be able to take advantage of the books about Thai food, culture and tourism to expand the knowledge of the students on culinary as well as  hotel and tourism management, which are the fields that the University has expertise.

Ambassador Kamthorn Sithtichoti stressed the importance of the promotion about Thailand among the Peruvian Public and a library plays a key role not only in encouraging self and life-long learning in a society but also in serving as a bridge between scholars, students and people from all walks of life. The opening ceremony of Thai education corner donated to USIL by the Royal Thai Government symbolizes the friendship and cooperation between Thailand and Peru reflecting our mutual desire to strengthen and deepen our cultural ties.
