Thailand – Peru Parliamentary Friendship League visits Republic of Peru.


On 5 – 13 August 2013, Thailand – Peru Parliamentary Friendship League led by Senator PrasertPrakoonsuksapanand comprised of another 6 members of Parliament , visited Peru in order to strengthen ties between the Parliaments of Thailand and Peru and explorer the possibility to promote cooperation between Thailand and Peru.



This visit is the third visit of the Group to Peru. The Thai delegation paid a courtesy calls and had discussion with President of the Republic of Peru, H.E. Mr. OllantaHumala, H.E. Mr. Juan Jimenez Mayor, Prime Minister of the Republic of Peru, H.E. Mr. FredyOtárolaPeñaranda ,the President of the Peruvian Congress and Ms. Luciana Leon, congresswoman and President of the Parliamentary Friendship League of Thailand – Peru (Peru).



The Thai delegation and Peruvian side concurred that Thailand – Peru relations in all aspects have been developed continually. The distance and language are not the obstacles to disrupt the bilateral relations. Nevertheless there are rooms that both sides can further foster their cooperation. Thailand and Peru can be served as strategic partners for each other in Latin-American and Southeast Asian regions.



Both sides expressed their readiness to continue strengthening closer relations and willingness to promote knowledge and better understanding about Thailand and Peru to their people, encouraging more people to people contacts and also to undergo activities to commemorate the 50 anniversary of Thailand – Peru Diplomatic Relations in the year 2015.
