During 13 – 14 November 2014, Ambassador Ruengdej Mahasaranond visited the region of Piura to participate in the International Forum activities as per the invitation of the Ministry of External Relations of Peru and Mr. Javier Atkins Lerggios, President of the Region Government of Piura. In the occasion, Ambassador and Asian Embassies representatives had chances to explore economic as well as investment potentials of Piura and also was one of the speakers of the Seminar entitled “How to do business and economic cooperation with Asian countries”.
Ambassador Mahasaranond gave an overview on Thailand’s economy and potentials, bilateral trade between Thailand and Peru to 300 participants. He underlined that Peruvian vegetables and seafood have more room to grow in Thai market and encouraged Peruvian private sector to make use of the Thailand – Peru Free Trade Agreement, which has been entered into force since 2011, covering 70% of imported-exported goods.
This event reflects a strong determination of Peruvian Government both central and regional to promote more international trade and encourage private sector look for new potential market for their products.
