On 24 September 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima organized a Thai cooking demonstration at the Ambassador’s residence with Mrs. Rattana Suwankam, chef of the Ambassador’s residence as the instructor. The Thai dishes presented for the demonstrations were red curry with roasted duck, Pad Thai with shrimps, Nam Tok Kor Moo Yang and Bualoy Samsi. All menus were prepared using the Thai ingredients available at supermarkets and Asian food stores in Lima.
Mobile exhibitions about Thailand as well as some Thai food products had been displayed. Information brochures about Thailand and Thai cooking recipe were distributed to all guests, giving them inspiration to add some Thai dish in their restaurant/hotel menu. The participants of the event, including students and professors of universities and cooking schools, chefs from leading hotels and restaurants in Lima, entrepreneurs of food and catering business as well as Thai product importers, around 50 persons showed great enthusiasm to the activity and enjoyed the authentic Thai lunch hosted by Ambassador Ruengdej Mahasaranond after the demonstration.
