During 19 – 22 March 2012, H.E. Kamthorn Sithtichoti ,Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Peru and The Royal Thai Embassy’s team travelled to Tacna, the capital of the region of the Tacna, Peru in order to organize the Thai Festival activities aimed at promoting information about Thailand as well as to look for the possibility to promote bilateral trade and investment in the southern part of Peru.
The Tacna Thai Festival activity has devided into 3 activities namely 1) Exhibition about Thailand 2) lecture on overview of Thailand and the Relations between Thailand and Peru by the Ambassador 3) Thai fruit carving demonstration and Thai food tasting. All activities were received warm welcome and great attention from the audience which consists of the educational, governmental and business sectors of Tacna.
During this visit, the Ambassador had opportunities to meet and discuss bilateral and cooperation issues with local administrator and representatives from business sectors for example the President of the Region of Tacna, Mayor of Tacna and Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of the city of Tacna,
Ambassador took this opportunity to promote bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Peru in all aspects especially trade and investment ,culture, tourism and technical cooperations with the city of Tacna and the Region of Tacna which is considered one of the most favorable for foreign Investment and economic potentials as one of the Free Economic Zones of Peru is located in Tacna. It was also a great opportunity to promote the better understanding about Thailand to all people of the city of Tacna as well as to establish connections with the local authorities which would help facilitate the future cooperation and missions of the Embassy.
